In 1969 Peter Sauber built Hegglin VW for himself, later he sold it to Christen.


One of C5 was fitted with Zakspeed Turbo and raced by Dombrowski in Interserie over 2000 cc division.


Another C5 was owned by Alfred Guldi since 1982. He change the seat into center position in 1985 to fulfil Can-Am regulation within Interserie Championship and continued racing it as Can-Am car until 1990. Then owned by Dieter Riegl until 2004 when it was sold to Switzerland for Supersports.
